how to find someone by their phone number

are there any web sites that i can go to; that will tell me whos someones phone number. i have a missed call on my cell phone, and i have the number saved in the phone. i dont know who the persons phone number is. is there a web site that i can go to and type in the phone number; and they will tell me whos number it is. yes. google for reverse lookup directories. the number may be unlisted but it is worth a try.. nope, its a violation of privacy.. sorry thats not possible if they called you from a cell phonehowever if they called you from a land line and their phone number is listed you can do a reverse number look up. you can do it on yahoo or msn.they both have reverse number look up features.. whitepagesthey have a reverse look-up. the only time a number wont show a name is if it is unlisted or a cell phone.. try anywhomost website directoriesphonebooks dont have listings for cell phone numbers or will make you pay to find the person that matches a cell number, but its worth a try!. yea there are like reverse phone directories this one usually worksnetsleuthphone.cgi if not try thisreversephonedirectory. even if the person is unlisted, it still should give you all of the info about them. phone companies have their unlisting service from stopping people from ting your number, not the other way around.. if it is a listed number simply go to google then type in the number in the search bar no spaces or dashes..just run the numbers toher..if it is listed it will even give you a map right to thier house..if it is unlisted..the only way will be to pay a server which there are many that will lead you to unlisted numbers etc..but they are not industry leading.make sure to tyope in the area code and all..again no spaces or special characters simply run all the numbers toher in the google search bar. not that i know ofprivacy!. try dialing the number and calling the person back. when someone answers, ask about the number and tell them that you had a missed call at this number. if possible, listen to see if the caller left you a message (some cell phones actually have this option.) if its the caller, youve solved your problem. if its someone else, (s)he might be able to tell you who called, and then call himher to the phone.
